Over the years I think I have had an appeal included in every edition of the magazine, enabling me to promote new volunteering roles on behalf of small local groups to help them to find new volunteers. "When the Repair Cafe opened like many new volunteer-led enterprises, initially we relied totally on free publicity to advertise our presence in the town, recruit volunteers and attract customers. The editor Sascha McDonald supported us from our first event on 01 December 2012 by always including a reminder about our sessions on the Noticeboard page. Only a few months after we opened, in May 2013, Sascha interviewed us and printed a whole page article which helped to spread the repair culture even wider. We especially appreciated that she would gently remind us if we had forgotten to tell her the dates of the next two sessions and she was always willing to revise the wording of the advertisement as our needs changed.
